Riding Lessons

Blue Hill Farm offers English-style riding lessons for riders of all ages and levels. We recommend scheduling at least one lesson per week to ensure steady progress and confidence in the saddle.

Our program focuses on developing a solid riding foundation, including proper position, effective communication with the horse, and overall horsemanship skills. Lessons are taught in a structured, progressive way to help riders build confidence, set personal goals, and celebrate their progress along the way.

Students will have the opportunity to learn everything from grooming and tacking up to mastering more advanced skills like jumping courses. For those interested in showing, we also offer coaching and support for riders who want to step into the competition ring.

All riders must wear pants, closed toe shoes, and a helmet regardless of age.

Tiny Trotters

Ages 3-6

Give your little one a gentle and joyful introduction to horses! Our leadline pony ride sessions are designed just for kids ages 3–6. With kind, kid-safe horses and patient instructors, your child will build confidence and make magical memories—one ride at a time.

What to Expect in a Session

Each 30-minute session includes:

  • Grooming & pony meet-and-greet

  • Leadline riding in our safe, enclosed arena

  • Fun riding games

Competing

Our show team gives riders the chance to take their skills to the next level in a fun, supportive environment.

We attend a variety of local and rated hunter/jumper shows throughout the season, offering opportunities for every level of rider — from first-time competitors to seasoned show ring riders.

Each show experience is designed to be educational and rewarding. Riders learn how to prepare themselves and their horses for competition, practice good sportsmanship, and work toward their personal goals in a structured setting.

Leasing

Looking for more time in the saddle? Leasing might be the perfect fit!

Our leasing program gives riders the chance to spend extra time with their favorite horse and build a stronger partnership both in and out of the saddle.

Leasing includes the opportunity for more lessons and one-on-one time that helps riders deepen their skills and connection with their horse.

Whether you’re preparing for shows, working toward specific riding goals, or simply want more hands-on horse time, leasing is a great way to take your riding to the next level without the full commitment of horse ownership.

We have limited lease opportunities available, so contact us today for more information.
